Building a sense of urgency helps managers and leaders fight against contentment. Employees who are happy with the status quo are often complacent.
When employees are complacent, we listen to expressions such as ‘we’ve always done it this way’ or ‘why make a change, the former way still works’. Urgency is the antithesis of complacency. Urgency encourages employees to see the need for change to happen.
